This is Paul Ritch's debut release for the Wagon Repair label. This Parisian's rise in esteem is characterized by his inclusion of warm Latin rhythms into the traditionally cold and calculated techno format. "Evil Laff" effervesces like a lab experiment, with layers of richly sampled percussion looping, stuttering and decompressing as the track picks up steam. Konrad Black's remix plunges into even darker waters. Metallic percussion and a deep ascendant bass melody dictate the pace, culminating in thudded keys and a commanding narrator.
