I recently went looking for the video for Cool Places by Sparks, thinking they were a one-hit wonder band from the 80's and I was shocked to find out they had a catalogue that spanned 5 decades and a new documentary about them directed by Edgar Wright. Hard to say if I dislike any songs in this 3-disc compilation. For lack of a better description, they remind me of Roxy Music mixed with Rush, if that's even possible and they may have inspired both the Pet Shop Boys and They Might Be Giants. Anyone who likes Talking Heads should probably like Sparks. They have a great sense of humor, with clever lyrics and surprising instrumentation. Check out the songs Occupation, National Crime Awareness Week and Lighten Up, Morrissey. Great titles, right?
